I grew up in Parkdale. I built the shelves and the lighting myself, and I paint — the rocket on the sign is mine. Ask me what something is worth and you get the honest answer, and usually a deal on top.
Parkdale, Toronto
West End Comics started as a side project and a small storage unit — me, buying, sorting and selling comics direct to the public.
I opened the shop in 2012 at the corner of Queen and Sorauren, and it grew a community of lovely nerds and geeks. Board game nights, art shows, signings and a book club later, thirteen years had gone by.
In early 2025 we moved down the road to 1716 Queen St W.
Comics, graphic novels, collectibles, Warhammer figures, board games and much, much more. Come in, share your passion, and get lost in the shelves and bins.
We buy comics and collectibles too. Where you can, get in touch first, so I know what I'll be assessing.
Your friendly neighbourhood comic book store just steps away from the TTC with the 501 and 504 streetcars.

No chain behind me, no warehouse. I built the shelves myself, and I am the person standing behind the counter.
At Queen and Sorauren, after a side project run out of a small storage unit.
Thirteen years at the first shop, then this space at 1716 Queen St W.
Iris and Otis. Neither has ever missed a shift.
Walls papered to the ceiling

The rocket on the sign is not stock art. I work in ink — rockets, moons, small figures standing on rock. Some of it hangs on the walls between the longboxes.
A shelf of it, priced and signed, is the kind of thing my shop can sell and a chain cannot.

Friendly and full of love — the shop's own words. Resident expert on head scratches, belly rubs and kisses. Say hello and she will make time for you.

The other half of the floor staff, and the serious-looking one. Same job, same soft heart: greet, supervise, collect kisses. Much less vicious in person than the face suggests.
